We are hiring a Video Editor!

Headlamp Studios is a full-service video production studio based in Salt Lake City, UT, specializing in commercial and documentary content for brands in the outdoor/apparel industry. On the surface we create beautiful and compelling videos for our clients. Beneath the surface we tell stories that change people.

The video always comes together in the edit. No matter how much planning is done, the Editor is the door at the end of the process who pulls the story into reality. The Editor’s role is one of great responsibility, making crucial decisions that affect our brand, portfolio, and the trust of our clients.

The Ideal Person

• Has 3+ years of video editing experience.
• Demonstrated skill through YouTube, Vimeo, or other existing portfolio.
• Is comfortable with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, or similar video editing and animation tools (ex: Davinci Resolve, FCPX).
• Is eager to improve the skill of video editing.
• Often gets lost tinkering and perfecting transitions & other details.
• Is very organized & gets stressed out by sloppy file management.
• Can accept feedback objectively.
  
  Job Responsibilities
  

• Video editing: finding selects, cutting together storylines, basic text & logo animations, putting together relevant & creative b-roll sequences
• Attending pre-production kickoff meetings to understand project goals and context
• Simultaneously managing internal (Headlamp Studios) and external (client) projects/deadlines
• Data organization and management
• Taking blows to your ego on the regular from clients & teammates who will change your creative work
  Occasionally interfacing with clients about their edit
  
• Communicating with clients & teammates promptly & professionally via email

Must be based in Salt Lake City, UT.

Compensation:

Compensation varies based on experience.

Part-time & project-based at first, opportunity for base monthly pay and consistent work if the first few projects go well.
