We are hiring a Video Editor!
Headlamp Studios is a full-service video production studio based in Salt Lake City, UT, specializing in commercial and documentary content for brands in the outdoor/apparel industry. On the surface we create beautiful and compelling videos for our clients. Beneath the surface we tell stories that change people.
Ben Knight once told me that the video always comes together in the edit. No matter how much planning is done, the Editor is the single mind at the end of the line who truly tells the story. The Editor’s vital role in the storytelling process directly affects our brand, portfolio, and the trust of our clients.
The Ideal Person
- Has 3+ years of video editing experience
- Has a YouTube channel, Vimeo profile, or an existing portfolio of video projects
- Is comfortable with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, or similar video editing and animation tools (ex: Davinci Resolve, FCPX)
- Is eager to improve the skill of video editing
- Loves tinkering and perfecting small details
- Is organized & enjoys creating and managing file structures
- Truly values critical feedback
Job Responsibilities
- All kinds of video editing: finding selects, cutting together storylines, text & logo animations, putting together relevant & creative b-roll sequences
- Attending pre-production kickoff meetings to understand project goals and context
- Simultaneously managing internal (Headlamp Studios) and external (client) projects/deadlines
- Data organization and management
- Taking blows to your ego on the regular from clients & teammates who will change your creative work
- Communicating with clients & teammates promptly & professionally via email
Based in Salt Lake City, UT. Will consider remote applicants.
Compensation:
Compensation varies based on experience.
Part-time & project-based at first, opportunity for base monthly pay and consistent work if the first few projects go well.
